Food in Books Has Reached 300 Followers! Book Giveaway to say “Thank you!”

I am so happy to announce that my blog Food in Books has officially reached 300 followers! Thank you so very much for your amazing support of my vision, my writing, and my cooking. I am very grateful for my readers, who offer words of encouragement and who inspire me to keep reading and cooking, as well as expand both the types of books I do read and to try new and unique recipes.

As a thank-you, I am hosting a book giveaway. All you need to do is comment below, or on my Facebook page, about which cookbook is your absolute favorite, and which recipe in that cookbook is the one you use over and over. The winner will receive Jacques Pepin’s wonderful memoir, The Apprentice, which tells the story of his journey to being one of the world’s master chefs, and also has some delicious recipes.

The winner will be chosen randomly on Monday, March 12 – just in time for my birthday! I look forward to reading about what cookbooks and recipes you love most!

  1. Thanks for keeping me on the straight and narrow with your lovely reminders to stop by! Which I had done, but neglected to comment! Happy 300 and Happy pre-birthday! I can’t wait to see what you make,or maybe you’ll be treating yourself, instead? I’ve been doing some updates on my blog which has been all-consumng!!

My favorites, currently, athough it always changes, lol, any thing from Jacques Pepin (you know that story) and Around my French Table by Dorie Greenspan.

    1. Not a problem at all and I hope I wasn’t too obnoxious in reminding you. It’s just that the book giveaway is Jacques Pepin and I know how much you love him. I can definitely say the same thing about your cooking advice. You have given me a great inspiration and keep me on the straight and narrow when I want to go off and do something crazy. Thank you so much for your support and also for the inspiration. The brussel sprouts and sweet potatoes has actually become a regular at my house.

    2. Mollie, congratulations on being the winner of the book giveaway! I know I was supposed to give away a copy of “The Apprentice” by Jacques Pepin, but in memory of your favorite Pepin cookbook that was stolen, I want instead to send you a copy of “Essential Pepin: More than 700 All-Time Favorites” if that is ok with you. If you want to send me an private e-mail with your mailing address, I’ll have it sent from Amazon this week. Congratulations again!

  2. Well deserved. Your writing is almost as delicious as the recipes you cook. A beautiful blog created by a beautiful woman. I look forward to many more of your culinary creations and all those gorgeous photos.

  3. Congrats! I love reading your stuff. You always make food that looks good and seems easy to prepare, and you read some really interesting books! My fave cookbook is probably Ina Garten – The Barefoot Contessa – “Cooking for Jeffrey.” I always wonder how Jeffrey doesn’t weigh 1000 pounds with all the good stuff she makes him. Lucky guy!

  4. Congratulations!! You deserve it!! đź’–đź’–đź’–
I have to say that my favourite cookbook is ‘the joy of cooking’ by Irma s rombauer. My father loved this book when he became a chef and when I got old enough and interested in cooking he bought me a copy of my own. It has some great insight and techniques and is very sentimental to me!
