A brief hiatus

Just a note to let everyone know I’m taking a short break from the blog. My mom passed away on Thursday, October 25th and our family is dealing with that loss. My mother and I did not have anything resembling a great relationship, but happily we reconciled at the end and I’m grateful she died at peace. I will be back in a couple of weeks.

  3. Vanessa, I’m so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. Relationships with our parents are so difficult, even the best of relationships and even more so when the road is rocky. I’m glad you had the time with your Mom but as I’m sure you know the questions never stop ending even with death. I lost my Mom some time ago and looking back, everything seems so surreal, and was for literally years. Wrap yourself in everything you find comforting. My heart goes out to you!

    2. I hit the send button before I finished replying to you. I have to agree with you about everything feeling surreal. I didn’t expect it to be this difficult but it is. I’m very grateful for the kindness of my friends, both in real life and in the cyber blogging world. Yours in particular. Thank you again. And I’m so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing as well.
