Congratulations!!!!! I’d want to have two books: a copy of “Half Asleep In Frog Pajamas” by Tom Robbins and the complete “Rabelais”. For food I’d be happy with an unlimited supply of pinto beans, onions, hatch chilis and garlic. Oh and a caldera to cook them in. Of course then I’d also want some tequila and limes… 😉 As long as I at least have books and beans I feel like a wealthy woman. Congrats to you again!!

I think with anything Rabelasian, you definitely need lots of food around to whet the appetite. Your foodie choices for the island sound amazing. And your entered

…not to enter… but your blog is sincerely a pleasure, each post a delightful interlude. (Of course, if fiction… the book would be ‘a complete works of will’, if not… something like Mathematical Models (for phys. and engin.)… and the food… hmm. What a dilemma. Ciabotta? Scampi? Chocolate chip cookies? … too hard to choose…

I think The Complete Works of Will is the ideal book to have on a desert Island! And since I’ve never met a scampi recipe I didnt love, let’s go with that. Thank you for such kind words. You don’t know how much I appreciate them and how your encouragement keeps me going at times. I truly appreciate it, my friend. 😊

Congratulations Vanessa! This is well-deserved! I’m going to cheat and say I’d want my Kindle who’s battery would somehow stay charged. I’m sorry but there is just no way I could choose just one book. And for food I’d go with shellfish. Scallops, shrimp, lobster…Yum!

In all honesty I would have to say I think I’d want to be stuck on a deserted island with the Bible. It would provide entertainment through its stories & characters, it would provide mental stimulation through it’s lessons, and it would provide hope & positivity reminding me that a higher being is keeping me from being alone- which won’t be THAT bad as I sip cold sparkling Rose’ and Italian cream filled pastries!!! 😂

I’ve always thought The Bible was such great reading, on so many different levels. And I can definitely see how reading at with a beautiful glass of rose wine and a wonderful pastry would make the experience that much better. You are entered!

Auguri Vanessa🎉🎉🎉. I was excited at 350 so I can’t even imagine 1200! I would probably need a diaper! If I was on a deserted island I would want a vat of olive oil so I could use it to drizzle on the food i foraged and the fish I caught. I would like a blank book and a writing implement. I was a recipe tester for Paola! I tested and reviewed 3 of the recipes in Adriatico, and I still haven’t gotten around to getting myself a copy so would love one. It is a beautiful book. I reviewed her other cookbook, Italian Street Food, on my blog and gave it 5 peperoncini out of 5 🌶 🌶🌶🌶🌶. Ciao, Cristina

Congrats, Vanessa! How exciting! It’s not surprising though and I know you’ll have thousands more because of your quality content.
For food I’d love to have turkey dinner too, but I’ll go with avocados considering they’re nutritious and full of good fat that would be well-rounded and much needed stranded on an island. For my book, as I’ve said before, a really huge dictionary! 😉♥️

Congratulations! I am so thrilled for you. You have a beautiful concept on this blog, and it always make me smile. Someday, I intend to create one of your recipes while reading the book too. I feel like I’d have such a hard time reading and typing and taking photos and cook. I’m good at multi-tasking, but this would be insanity for me! LOL
At this point, I’d love to make a Turkey dinner while reading a Thanksgiving book… there are a few that come to mind, but right now, I’d go with Dear James by Jon Hassler because it also have my name in it!

I feel the same way about you! I slashed my followed list last month so I could purposely see people’s blogs I liked rather than all these that I didn’t know who they were. You were definitely in that list, and it’s so much easier to comment and read now.

Congratulations!! Okay, so I have to participate. What book would I want with me on a deserted island? It’s a nonfiction book: by Jen Sincero: You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life. I think it would be easy to become depressed on a deserted island, so having a crazy, inspirational book would help. I would also want an unlimited supply of shrimp that could be cooked in a variety of ways, but mostly fried. Deep fried tempura-battered shrimp. Cheers!

You might not get depressed if you had a deflated soccer ball with bushes sticking out of its head to talk to, possibly naming it Wilson? Lol! I love the sound of that book title, and shrimp in any form are always good to me. Thank you so much and you are entered!

If I can’t count coffee as my “food” then it would have to be spaghetti. My favourite comfort food🍝
