The latest episode of “Cooking the Books” Podcast just dropped, and it’s a good one! We’re talking green chile, blue corn, witches and mysticism, one of my exes and his hilarious dislike of the writer, and the author himself, my friend, the late, great Rudolfo Anaya, so give it a listen!
Episode 9 of “Cooking the Books” Podcast Now Online!

…vino y recuerdo, hasta que las lágrimas dejen de sentir… which could be awhile. Then again, maybe not at all.
(…will have to read, but there’s a bit of a strong, more so in the US, reaction against… obvious things, on all levels, of late. Opinion over evidence. Ie, a confounding of comfort for well-being, wealth for money, poverty with destitution, technology with software, ecc.)

I love that beginning quote in Spanish. I think you’ll definitely enjoy the book if you read it. It’s definitely a microcosm of a culture and a way of life that, even now, a lot of people don’t know much about. I think that’s why I love it so much. I think to truly understand my culture is to read that book and find something in it that you can relate to. That’s probably the best way I can describe it.
